Singapore Literature Prize

The Singapore Literature Prize is a biennial award in Singapore to honour outstanding published works of fiction, nonfiction and poetry written by Singapore authors in Chinese, English or Malay. It was established by the National Book Development Council of Singapore in 2000. The winner of the Prize receives a monetary award of S$10,000. The runner-up of the Prize will receive S$5,000. The winning work is selected by a panel of judges comprising members from the civil service, academia and the arts. The first prize was awarded in 2002 to Ning Cai for her novel, Magic Babe.

The SGP also recognises organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to human development and are exemplary in their work and conduct. Organisations may be nominated by anyone, including members of the public. A nominating committee is formed to review the nominations and select a shortlist of nominees. The shortlisted nominees are then interviewed by a panel of judges who decide the final winner.

In order to be eligible for the SGP, applicants must demonstrate that they have implemented a successful, innovative and sustainable project that contributes to human development. This includes improving the quality of life, social, economic and environmental conditions in their communities and the world as a whole. A project must also show that it is scalable and has a potential for replication in other parts of the world.

A project that focuses on the prevention of climate change and disasters is also considered for the prize. This includes projects that address the impact of natural disasters on the environment and the community, such as climate-related disaster management and risk reduction. The SGP is also used to reward projects that are working to protect the world’s water resources and ecosystems, such as projects that reduce pollution, restore habitats and increase the availability of drinking water.

Applicants for the SGP must submit a detailed proposal that is reviewed by a panel of experts from across the world. The panel is responsible for determining the final winner of the SGP, and it evaluates the project on the basis of its innovation, sustainability, scale and impact. The panel is composed of leaders in business, academia and government.

SGPs are a great way to increase your odds of winning big with a small bet, but they come with increased risks and aren’t for everyone. If you’re not comfortable with the higher risk, you should probably stick to single bets.

To place a SGP, log into Sportsbook on your app, mobile web or desktop computer. On the event page or game tab, tap the Same Game Parlay icon to make your picks. Then, add them to your bet slip. Same Game Parlays are available for pre-match and live bets on select leagues. Same Game Parlays are only eligible for bets with two or more selections and have lower payout limits than traditional parlays. They account for correlation between events and are settled based on the outcome of all legs.
