It is a great opportunity for young researchers to gain recognition from the HK community and beyond. The award is also a good way to network with other scientists and gain exposure in the field.

The HK Prize is an honor given to individuals who are working to advance world civilisation and build harmonious societies. Past winners have included social justice activists who are fighting for democracy in their countries, and community service workers such as the founder of a non-profit organisation that provides shelter for homeless adults. The award’s logo, which combines two precious elements – a pearl and a pierced jade amulet – symbolises the triumph of the human spirit in difficult circumstances.

This prize is an academic exchange programme that offers a unique chance to showcase the best research in Hong Kong to a wide audience in the Mainland and the world. Winners will be awarded a cash prize and a plaque, and will have the opportunity to meet the global science community in a special ceremony in Hong Kong. The HK Prize is sponsored by the Bank of China Hong Kong Limited.
